Meanwhile...back at the drafting table.

It's been a hot minute since I've updated the blog, but I have some great news! First, I'll be updating my blog page into a full-fledged online website soon. Since I've started working full-time at SCAD, I've been inspired by the professionalism of the students I've been working with and it's motivated me to expand beyond this blog and develop something that will help further my own professional opportunities.

Secondly, I'll be attending SEVERAL Comic Cons starting in December, including: Daytona Comic Con, JekyllCon, MegaCon, AmeliaCon and DragonCon for starters. Potentially going to rack up a few more convention appearances, so I'll keep you all informed. Until then, enjoy the sneak peak of my upcoming Para-Postcards, to be sold at the cons listed above.

Additionally, check out these concept designs based off of characters from my Flagler's Few series, available through Pineapple Press and retailers internationally (Amazon, BAM!, Barnes and Noble, etc.). More to come, I really enjoyed working on these.

Concept Design: The Process

Just working on some character designs from characters in my most recent work, The Vampirate of Matanzas Inlet. This is Miss Colleen, the second officer of The Mistress of Poseidon. To be honest, I'm developing some new work and designs to showcase on my hopefully-soon-to-come website which will replace this blog under the link www.arfstudios.net.

I've always been a fan of showing the process of my artwork, and so I display the break-down (or rather build-up) from pencil sketch to finished, fully rendered illustration. Hope you enjoy. More to come.

I'm an old dog learning some new tricks! ;-)

Ken Eats Gainesville

I did a little sketch-up of Gainesville's local food critic, Ken of Ken Eats Gainesville. Like Ken, I love my food and there is quite a variety of diners and restaurants throughout Gainesville. Ken's critiques and reviews are quite fantastic, and so, in honor of his work I decided to do a little sketch of the man himself. Check out his reviews at the link above.

6 years and going strong!

I've been stamping the name "ARF Studios" on everything since I was 10 years old, but in all honesty, it's only been since I graduated SCAD in 2009 that I've really been landing gigs with some amazing companies. Just want to give a very big, warm shout out to those who have seen something in my work and let me share it through them these past six years! Here's hoping I'll be adding more names and logos to this for the years to come!

Pop Culture Fan Art

Some of these recent pieces were commissions, while others were just for fun! Check out some of my recent work below. The first three were tests with Copic Markers, which I haven't used in quite a while. I had a commission and they wanted original art based on three 80's Icons! My favorite is the Peter Venkman which was hot off the heals of the previous post.

Then, for my final project in my SCAD E-Learning program, decided to do a promotional art piece based off Kristian Nairn's (Hodor) DJ Tour, "Rave of Thrones."
